- This artisan is amazing!!! He has beautiful energy to go along with his beautiful work. He was very respectful, quick and it was important to him to do a great job. We collaborated on color of cement, he put in consideration my esthetic and we were both very happy with the final result. I can’t recommend Dio enough!!! - Colibri Painting and Wall Finishes came highly recommended to me by Meoded Paints and Decoration. When my husband and I first started exploring ideas for our master bedroom, we met with numerous specialty painters and artists who pitched various ideas. Nothing really felt right. When Colibri first came into the space, the working relationship was really easy. He had many good ideas, but really listened to what worked and didn’t work for us. We wanted someone with a creative vision who could also incorporate a mood and texture to the room that both my husband and I would like. It was a smooth process. We did multiple color adjustments and boards until we got it just right. Once we had selected the look, the work itself started right away, and was done within a week. We enjoyed working with Colibri and would recommend them to anyone looking to collaborate with a talented artist.

“They’re True Artists”
- My experience with Studios Colibri was stellar from start to finish. Dio responded right away to my request for a faux concrete plaster feature wall and immediately scheduled an in-person consultation. He was extremely helpful in walking me through the design process, presenting samples of various colors & textures, in order to get the finish I wanted. You leave the consultation knowing that you’re in good hands. The site team, James and Rex, were fantastic. They were on time, friendly, respectful, worked quietly, and kept the site clean. The whole project was estimated to take 2 days, which is exactly what it took. The final product is absolutely stunning and beyond what I expected. It truly is a work of art. These guys aren’t just contractors, they’re true artists. I won’t hesitate to use Studios Colibri again and would highly recommend them to anyone else.

I don’t write a lot of reviews however, I felt compelled to write one in regards to Colibri Painting and Wall Finishes.
WOW, these guys are amazing!
Dio and his team are true artisans and we’re thrilled that we chose them for our project. Dio met with us to discuss our needs and quickly grasped exactly what we were looking for in the way of custom finishes for a new wine cellar as well as a downstairs bathroom. He showed us samples with colors and textures and that were perfect for our project(s).
They were on time, on budget and did an amazing job of prepping and customizing our walls and ceilings. The clean up at the end of each day and the job was exceptional as well.
Every single person that sees either of these rooms immediately comments on the custom walls and ceilings. Major wow factor!
If you’re looking for a unique, cool, custom finish on your walls, ceiling, etc., Dio and Colibri are your guys. You will be absolutely thrilled with their professionalism, artistry and most importantly… the results!

Dio did a fantastic job doing tadelakt plaster in a bathroom remodel at my home in City Terrace. He took his time reviewing the process with me with, helping me pick out a color, and then was willing to work with me when I was on the fence about whether or not I liked it (despite it being an exact match of the sample he had shown me). Ultimately I decided to leave it as is and I’m very happy with the end result. His work was meticulous and he was also a pleasure to work with. His prices were also fair and reasonable. Highly recommended!

- Dionisio (Dio) is a master artist and Renaissance man. Let us just say we LOVE THIS MAN!
- I had ongoing visions and dreams daily of what I wanted. Subconsciously I knew what I wanted but needed the right person to execute it. It took me a bout 6 months on a regular web search to finally place all the dots together . I kept running across images that I saw on Pintrest that I loved that did not have the artist name on them, and I meet Dio and he lives in my neighborhood. How amazing was that!
- It took me a minute to wrap my brain around what it was I truly wanted as there were so many options. We collaborated on several design ideas for my home design project. He understood my creative interpretations and provided all of the missing elements. I too am an artist in my own right, Dio embraced that and checked with me on every stage of the process to make sure we were in the same groove.
- My main objective was to give him the bullet points and turn him loose. He is excellent for those that know exactly what they want and for those that are clueless. He will not move forward until you are on one accord.
- My husband and I are experimenting with a new technique that I am creating by not adding photographs or art on the walls.
- Instead, we are testing the psychological effects by adding textures and wall finishes only, that bring together a common flow throughout the home. We have found that it calms and allows the brain to be stimulated in a more unpretentious exchange with human matter.
- Dio is patient, clear minded and focused when he works. I loved Photographing Dio while painting. His passion and love for art is alive within. I loved his attire, LA needs more of this. All of the world must experience him. The love of music is definitely an element that he brings to the flow. I loved to watch my husband and Dio have their guitar and song exchanges.
- Dio is excellent in both artistic interior and exterior painting. He created a beautiful lavender Venetian plaster on our interior entrance and a amazing soft blend of purple, earth tones on the Venetian plaster for the exterior to match a wonderful fused glass piece in our bay window. It was just the right touch, not noisy
- In the pool area I had the back wall smooth stuccoed beforehand which created a smooth canvas for him to create a strong yet mindful geographic and colorful design. This was a bold statement. I went from soft and gentle in the entrance to bold in the back.
- Dio is the consummate professional, he is licensed with the City of Los Angeles, provides a proper contract and honors it. What more can you ask for. He shows up on time that is amazing check him out on his website!
